On 19 May, Acting Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Rustam Badasyan participated in the meeting of the Ministers of Justice entitled "Digital Challenges for Justice in New Era" held in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation.

Rustam Badasyan expressed his gratitude to Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuychenko for the invitation and cordial reception.

Taking into account the focus of title of the forum, the Acting Minister of Justice of Armenia presented the most significant reforms in the e-justice sector envisaged by the 2019-2023 Action Plan of the Government of Armenia — introduction of the e-court as a new unified e-justice platform which envisages complete digitalisation of judicial processes, ensuring internal document circulation of the courts, exchange of information between the courts, state and local authorities, as well as archiving court decisions and court cases, etc. During the meeting, Rustam Badasyan also spoke about the advantages of the electronic system of payment orders introduced, the programmes to digitise all the processes of civil, administrative and criminal proceedings for reducing the workload of the courts, the electronic system already introduced for psychological testing of candidates for judges, digitisation of bankruptcy processes, etc.

During his speech, the Acting Minister of Justice touched upon the new electronic system introduced in the sector of Compulsory Enforcement Service, the opportunities to receive services in the civil status acts registration sector via the electronic platform, as well as the electronic platform for declaring real beneficiaries of legal persons. With regard to the latter, Rustam Badasyan informed that the electronic system enables legal persons to electronically provide the necessary information to the state, automatically generate the corporate structure of a legal person, reflecting both direct and indirect connections of real beneficiaries with the legal person. The system also reflects information on whether the real beneficiary is a politically influential person or not.

According to Rustam Badasyan, the projects being implemented by Armenia in the e-justice sector are very ambitious, there is a lot to do, and the interest to share joint experience with the counterparts is great.
