Ministry of Justice piloting project to outsource functions for food supply to penitentiary institutions to private sector
For the purpose of implementing the mentioned measures, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia held professional discussions with private companies, and agreements were reached to implement pilot projects for introduction of a new and effective system of preparation of, delivery and supply of food to penitentiary institutions. The first pilot project was implemented by "Master Service" LLC at "Goris" Penitentiary Institution where 100 convicts were supplied with new dishes made by the Company through a new method for about a week (from 15 April to 21 April).
Opportunity for communication via video call being created for persons at penitentiary institutions
Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1599-N "On making an amendment and supplements to Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1543-N of 3 August 2006" — developed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and adopted on 6 July 2017 by the Government of the Republic of Armenia — shall enter into force from 1 November 2018; as a result of the co-operation between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and "Red Cross" international organisation, relevant technical equipment has already been installed at "Vardashen" and "Nubarashen" Penitentiary Institutions for testing, and the system of video call has been put into operation; through the system of video call, persons at the penitentiary institutions have the opportunity to enjoy the right to video call. At the same time, repair works are being carried out in the relevant room of "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institution, and technical equipment necessary for video calls will also be installed at that penitentiary institution in the next few days.
www.e-request.am to help improve quality of activities carried out and services provided by state authorities
Upon a decision, it is envisaged to modernise the electronic websites of all state authorities over the next couple of months, preparing them for submission of requests to a single window by electronic means. Through the above-mentioned single window, citizens will enter the www.e-request.am unified portal for online requests through which they will send relevant requests, as well as have the opportunity to evaluate the quality and time period of the services provided by relevant state authorities.
Electronic system for transfer of documents between courts and Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service introduced
In the past, document circulation between courts and the Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service was carried out in paper form. Participants of the case and the court were deprived of the opportunity of a procedure for submission of documents by electronic means, which, in a number of cases, caused inconveniences for the participants of the case, and enforcement of a court judgment based on a relevant writ of execution was prolonged, and there was an increase in administrative actions.
