During the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Justice, representatives of OSCE Secretariat express their willingness to continue assistance in creating a Ministry of Internal Affairs and re-modelling police troops

Deputy Minister of Justice Arpine Sargsyan received the representatives of the Secretariat of the Organisation of Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the agenda for Armenia-OSCE co-operation, referring also to ongoing and effective assistance of the OSCE in the fields of the fight against corruption and the police reforms. Both parties highly appreciated the work already performed within the framework of the fight against corruption and police reforms.

The parties touched upon the future directions for the police reforms, in particular stressing the creation of a Ministry of Internal Affairs, re-modelling police troops and co-operation with OSCE in this process. Issues aimed at strengthening the police-public co-operation were discussed as well.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to continue the productive co-operation in line with the reforms agenda of the Government.
