Rustam Badasyan and Deborah Grieser discuss directions for development of co-operation in fight against corruption

Today, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan received the delegation led by USAID Armenia Mission Director Deborah Grieser.

 The Minister expressed gratitude for the effective co-operation and attached importance to the activities of the "Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research" Foundation of the Ministry of Justice, which makes essential contributions to the implementation of strategic reforms and operates with the support of the USAID.

Deborah Grieser also highly appreciated the work of the Foundation and the existing co-operation with the Ministry of Justice in the anti-corruption field and reaffirmed the willingness to assist the Government of Armenia, particularly in the fight against corruption.

During the conversation, Minister Badasyan presented the priorities of the Ministry of Justice, that is, the creation of the Anti-Corruption Committee and the Anti-Corruption Court, police reforms and discussed with the colleagues of the USAID the opportunities for co-operation in the mentioned directions.

Several issues regarding support to the activities of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption and increase of public confidence in the judiciary through the fight against corruption were also touched upon during the meeting.
