Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan received the delegation led by Dirk Schuebel, Head of Division Eastern Partnership bilateral, European External Action Service.

The representative of the European Union congratulated Artak Zeynalyan on being appointed to the office of Minister of Justice and reaffirmed the EU's willingness to support Armenia's new government. According to him, the Dialogue on Human Rights Protection held the day before and the 9th meeting of the EU-Armenia Subcommittee held today serve as evidence of the fact that the EU supports the Armenian nation, not individuals or governments.

Minister Zeynalyan noted that the changes that took place in the Republic of Armenia have raised the level of responsibility of officials to meet the expectations of the people from the new Government, as well as confirmed the willingness of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to implement the international commitments assumed by the Republic of Armenia, including the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement concluded between Armenia and the European Union with more persistence.

During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the issues on making reforms in the judicial-legal sector and attached importance to the need to undertake urgent steps to increase public confidence in electoral processes.
