Minister of Justice receives delegation led by Chief of IMF Mission to Armenia

Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Davit Harutyunyan received the delegation led by Chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to Armenia Hossein Samiei.

The Minister and the IMF representative discussed a number of issues of mutual interest and particularly touched upon the fight against corruption and the activities targeted at improvement of the investment environment.

Presenting the reforms being implemented in the anti-corruption field, Minister Harutyunyan emphasised among them the criminalisation of illicit enrichment, the improvement of the declaration process, the limitation of cash flow, the expansion of the scope of officials submitting declarations, the introduction of the institution of whistle-blowers and the establishment of an independent anti-corruption body. The Minister, as the best instrument for the fight against corruption, also attached importance to the activities aimed at making a full transition to electronic management in the sector of public service provision and at making the processes more transparent.

Hossein Samiei commended the determination of the Ministry of Justice to carry out reforms and expressed willingness to deepen the co-operation.
