Minister of Justice discusses issues related to several regulations in the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia with OSCE/ODIHR representatives

On 2 December, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received the delegation of the OSCE/ODIHR, which is in Armenia on a needs assessment mission.

The goal of the visit is to assess the pre-election climate and the preparations that are being made ahead of the parliamentary elections.

Arpine Hovhannisyan welcomed the visit of the guests to the Republic of Armenia, highly appreciated the bilateral co-operation with the OSCE/ODIHR and attached importance to further development and deepening of that co-operation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the reflection of the recommendations in the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia that were submitted by way of the second joint advisory opinion of the OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission.

During the meeting, the parties also touched upon issues related to the publication of voters' lists, as well as the procurement of cameras and the connected devices in electoral processes.

Deputy Director of the OSCE/ODIHR for Elections Richard Lappin expressed gratitude to the Minister of Justice for the cordial reception and expressed willingness for future co-operation.
