Vigen Kocharyan participates in the fourth session of the International Anti-Corruption Academy’s Assembly of Parties

Fourth session of the International Anti-Corruption Academy’s Assembly of Parties was held in Vienna between 9 and 11 December 2015, with the participation of official delegations of nearly 50 Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy and international organisations. The official delegation of the Republic of Armenia was represented by Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan and Rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Melikyan. In his speech at the Assembly on 9 December, Vigen Kocharyan addressed the activities being carried out in the Republic of Armenia in the fight against corruption. Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan particularly stressed that the fight against corruption is one of the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Armenia, as well as he, among important actions being carried out by our State, marked out the adoption of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Armenia and its Implementation Action Plan for 2015-2018, the creation of the Anti-Corruption Council, and the introduction of a number of new legal regulations. Vigen Kocharyan also presented the problems that exist and the achievements that have been made in the fight against corruption, which have become a subject for evaluation by authoritative international organisations. In the course of joint discussions, agreements were reached for the deepening of international co-operation in this sector, the first step of which became the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Anti-Corruption Academy of Vienna and the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, which will serve as a strong ground for mutual co-operation between the two structures.
