Today, the launch of the Programme aimed at protection of children's rights on the Internet takes place with participation of Kristinne Grigoryan

Today, the launch of the Programme "Stop the sexual exploitation of and violence against children on the Internet" implemented with the support of the Council of Europe took place with the participation of Deputy Minister of Justice Kristinne Grigoryan. The Programme is being implemented jointly by the Staff of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

At the opening ceremony, Suren Krmoyan, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, made a welcoming speech on behalf of the Bureau of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. Attaching importance to the implementation of the Programme in this stage, Krmoyan emphasised that the protection of children's rights is among the priorities of the Government and predetermined the prevention of violence against children in all its manifestations as a main challenge on this path.

Welcoming the participants of the event, Deputy Minister Grigoryan emphasised that the objective set forth in this Programme aimed at protection of children from sexual exploitation and violence is more important and takes a central place in the national agenda of human rights protection, and the actions predetermined under this Programme will be fully included in the national strategy on human rights protection.

Kristinne Grigoryan also emphasised that the launch of the Programme is in line with the main objective of creating a violence-free society, declared by the Government, which is practically reflected both in the Government Programme and the Three-year Action Plan of Co-operation with the Council of Europe.

Summing up her speech, the Deputy Minister noted, in parallel with the elaboration of legal documents, the importance of education and awareness aimed at prevention of violence, as well as emphasised the necessity of efficient use of multi-stakeholder platform in the context of inter-agency co-operation, as well.
