Ministry of Justice and European Union deepening co-operation

Today, the "Support to judicial and legal reforms in Armenia" Technical Assistance Project, funded by the European Union, was launched under the direction of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan. The purpose of the Project is to support the EU-Armenia political dialogue in the justice sector and to assist in the development for future assistance of the EU in the justice sector.

Within the framework of the Project, it is envisaged to analyse the gaps and issues existing in the sector and, based on those gaps and issues, develop a package of bidding documents for support programmes, predetermining the main directions for the budget support programme. The project also envisages supporting the introduction of electronic tools and processes of modernisation in the justice sector, etc.

Representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, the experts of the Project and employees of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia participated in the meeting that marked the launch of the project.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Vigen Kocharyan noted that this Project will contribute to more effective and targeted implementation of the current reforms and the reforms to be implemented in the near future.
