Tigran Khachikyan receives members of Group of Public Monitors Implementing Supervision over Criminal-Executive Institutions and Bodies

Today, Deputy Minister of Justice Tigran Khachikyan received members of the Group of Public Monitors Implementing Supervision over Criminal-Executive Institutions and Bodies.

Welcoming the members of the Group, Tigran Khachikyan re-affirmed the willingness of the Ministry to ensure continuation of effective co-operation and to deepen it.

 During the meeting, issues such as the introduction of legislative mechanisms for filing an appeal to a court with regard to actions or inactions of the administrative staffs of penitentiary institutions, providing quality medical services, as well as the draft law related to criminalisation for creating a criminal environment and a number of other issues were touched upon.

The Deputy Minister assured the members of the Group that, within the scope of the policy being implemented in the penitentiary sector, all recommendations and observations submitted by the Group will be considered substantially by the Ministry.

Summing up the meeting, Tigran Khachikyan re-affirmed his willingness to meet the members of the Group in certain periods with the view to find joint solutions in the field of constructive dialogue.
